SEVEN ALLEGED “FACEBOOK RAPISTS ” WANTED IN MBIZANA

Mbizana police have launched a manhunt for seven men accused of orchestrating a string of rapes in local communities. The suspects are alleged to have used Facebook to lure unsuspecting victims with false promises of employment opportunities, only to assault them when they responded to the job posts.

According to authorities, the incidents have been taking place since 2023 in villages including Ndunge, Mhlanga, and Ntshamathe. Police believe the group has continued its predatory activities into 2025, targeting vulnerable community members who are desperate for work.

Police spokespersons confirmed that the suspects identify their victims through posts on Facebook, advertising non-existent jobs. Once the victims arrive at the arranged meeting points, they are allegedly selected and sexually assaulted.

Law enforcement has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any information that may help in apprehending the suspects. “If you know who they are, or where they can be found, please come forward. It is urgent that we stop this cycle of violence,” police said in a statement.

Authorities also acknowledged that many victims remain silent out of fear or shame, making it difficult to measure the true scale of the crimes. Community members are encouraged to speak out and assist in investigations.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the team leader directly at 079 520 3586.

The police have warned residents to be cautious of suspicious job offers circulating on social media platforms.

“Mbizana must stand together to fight this scourge,” read a statement from community leaders.
