MCSA STANDS IN SOLIDARITY WITH FLOOD-AFFECTED FAMILIES IN MTHATHA

The Methodist Church of Southern Africa (MCSA) has rallied behind families affected by the devastating floods that hit Mthatha and surrounding areas in the Eastern Cape. In a display of solidarity and compassion, the Church has mobilized resources and coordinated relief efforts in collaboration with local authorities and civil society.

The Church has provided pastoral care to the grieving and displaced, offering a sense of comfort and hope in a time of crisis. According to Rev Pumla Nzimande, Presiding Bishop of the MCSA, “In times of crisis, the MCSA lives out its mission of proclaiming Jesus Christ for healing and transformation by both word and deed.”

The MCSA leadership has extended heartfelt condolences to those who have lost loved ones. Rev Pumla Nzimande, Rev Mongameli Noqayi, Rev Dr Sox Leleki, and Rev Sva Waqu have pledged the Church’s continued solidarity as communities rebuild and recover.

The Church invites all Methodists to continue offering prayers, donations, and volunteer support to those affected by the floods. As the Church strives to become an alternative community, unity and compassion remain at the forefront. “Let us remain steadfast in our bid to become an alternative community, for in unity, we are stronger,” the Church urges.
