Notorious fugitive arrested for murder

Prince Gift Mdluli, the suspect in the murder of Lieutenant Colonel Piet Pretorius, a Unit Commander of the Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit in Ermelo, has been arrested. He was taken into custody on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Komatipoort, Mpumalanga, not Mkomazi.

Mdluli had been on the run since January 16, 2025, after Lieutenant Colonel Pretorius was fatally shot in Ermelo. Five other suspects, including a former police official, were arrested in connection with the murder and are currently in custody.

It’s worth noting that Mdluli was not arrested for killing four friends, but rather for his alleged involvement in the murder of Lieutenant Colonel Pretorius. Additionally, Mdluli’s social media activities, including spreading false news, are not mentioned in the official police statement.
