Triple Murder Shocks Lusikisiki Community

A brutal and senseless murder has left the Lusikisiki community reeling after three women were gunned down in their home on Thursday, February 20, 2025. The victims, aged between 33 and 69 years, were shot dead by a balaclava-wearing man who gained entry into the house by using a local man to knock on the door.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspect asked for the 33-year-old victim by name before shooting her multiple times in the upper body. The two other victims, aged 69 and 44, attempted to intervene but were also shot dead.

OR Tambo District Commissioner, Major General Norman Modishana, has condemned the brutal murder, stating that the perpetrator/s will be brought to justice. “We will not rest until the perpetrator/s are arrested and brought to justice,” he said.

This incident comes on the heels of a devastating mass shooting in the same area, which left 17 people dead and three critically injured The community is still reeling from the shock of that incident, and this latest tragedy has left many in a state of fear and uncertainty.

As the investigation continues, police are urging the community to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity. The Lusikisiki community is in mourning, and our thoughts are with the families of the victims during this difficult time.
