SINENKANI FC TAKES STAND AGAINST SAFA EC DECISION
In a bold move, Sinenkani FC has appealed to the Arbitration Committee against the decision by the South African Football Association (SAFA) Eastern Cape (EC) to dismiss their complaint regarding a match commissioner’s alleged conflict of interest.
The controversy surrounds a match between Sinenkani FC and FC Ravens on January 25, 2025, where Mr. Thenjana “Faku” Mbangatha, the match commissioner, was revealed to be the father of one of the FC Ravens players. Sinenkani FC lodged a complaint with SAFA EC, but to their surprise, the complaint was dismissed without a disciplinary committee (DC) hearing.
Sinenkani FC has taken umbrage with the decision, citing a lack of fairness and justice in the handling of the complaint. The club has vowed to fight for what they believe is right and has appointed a legal team to represent them in the appeal.
“We believe in justice and fairness in football, and we will fight at every front to ensure that,” said the club in a statement. “We are inspired by the Promised Land and will not back down in our pursuit of justice.”
The appeal will be heard by the Arbitration Committee, and Sinenkani FC is confident that the decision will be overturned. The club has also confirmed that they will attend a disciplinary committee hearing scheduled for Sunday, February 16, in East London.
As the drama unfolds, football fans will be watching with bated breath to see how the situation plays out. One thing is certain, however: Sinenkani FC is determined to fight for what they believe is right, and they will stop at nothing to ensure that justice is served.
