Alfred Nzo District Municipality Launches Water Project in Ward 17
In a significant move to address water challenges in the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality, the Alfred Nzo District Municipality has introduced Mabona Civils as the contractor for the Greater Mbizana Water Supply Scheme Phase 1B.
This project, set to commence next week, aims to provide 256 communal standpipes in Ward 17, making a significant difference in access to clean drinking water for more than 600 households in the area.
Cllr. Nathi Nqoko, Acting Mayor of Alfred Nzo District Municipality for the day, emphasized the importance of cooperation between residents and the contractor to ensure the project’s timely completion. “We urge all residents to support this project and work with the contractor to avoid any delays,” said Cllr. Nqoko.
The Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality has expressed its appreciation for the project, recognizing its significance in addressing the water needs of the community.
This initiative is part of the district municipality’s efforts to improve access to basic services, including water, in the region. The project is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of residents in Ward 17, who have long struggled with water scarcity.
As the project gets underway, residents are urged to support the initiative and work collaboratively with the contractor to ensure its successful completion.
