MAYOR KICKS OFF BACK TO SCHOOL CAMPAIGN AT NGOBOZANA SENIOR SECONDARY

In a heartwarming display of support for education, Ingquza Hill, Mayor Cllr Nonkosi Pepping visited Ngobozana Senior Secondary School (Ward 14) to launch the Back to School campaign. The Mayor’s visit aimed to motivate learners to focus on their studies and strive for excellence.

During her visit, Mayor Pepping donated uniform items and cosmetics to 20 learners, emphasizing the importance of education in shaping their futures. She commended the school’s overall performance, noting that the learners have done exceptionally well. However, she also challenged both educators and learners to work harder and aim to be among the best nationally by the end of 2025.

The Mayor’s words of encouragement were echoed by Cllr. T. Mgudu, who expressed gratitude to the municipality for the visit. Mr. Gunuza, the school’s principal, provided a detailed report on the school’s performance in 2024, highlighting a 93% pass rate in the grade 12 final examinations. Despite facing infrastructure challenges, Mr. Gunuza remains optimistic about the school’s potential, citing the current grade 12 group as “potential worldbeaters.”

The Back to School campaign serves as a reminder of the importance of education in empowering young minds. As Mayor Pepping aptly put it, “Your future is in your hands, build it now.” With the support of local leaders and the community, Ngobozana Senior Secondary School is poised to achieve great things in the years to come.
