TRIBUTE: UMHLOBO WENENE FM PRESENTER NOMONDE VAKALISA PASSES AWAY

The South African radio community is mourning the loss of beloved Umhlobo Wenene FM presenter, Nomonde Vakalisa, who passed away earlier today after a short illness.

The news of Nomonde’s passing was confirmed by her family member, G Vakalisa, and Umhlobo Wenene FM business manager, Loyiso Bala, who paid tribute to her on air.

Nomonde was a dedicated and passionate presenter who hosted two popular shows on Umhlobo Wenene FM: “Imvuselelo kuMhlobo Wenene” and “Bekithemba lakho kuYe”. Her warm and engaging on-air personality endeared her to listeners across the Eastern Cape.

In addition to her radio work, Nomonde was also a spiritual leader and pastor at Thy Will Ministries under Prophet Msimang. Prophet Msimang took to social media to express his condolences, saying, “Our prayers are with her family and the congregants in the PE branch.”

Loyiso Bala described Nomonde as a “dedicated presenter and a spiritual leader” who will be deeply missed by her colleagues, listeners, and the broader community.

The passing of Nomonde Vakalisa is a tremendous loss to the world of radio and beyond. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and inspired through her work.
