IZWILOMZANSI FM’S ZUSIPHE DIDI REFLECTS ON TELKOM RADIO AWARDS NOMINATION

In a candid interview, Izwilomzansi FM’s news reader, Zusiphe Didi, shared her thoughts on being nominated for the prestigious Telkom Radio Awards. Although she didn’t take home the award, Zusiphe’s nomination is a testament to her hard work and dedication to radio journalism.

When asked about her initial reaction to the nomination, Zusiphe revealed that she was in disbelief. “The person who first saw the nominees had to prove it to me that he wasn’t lying at all. Even after that proof, I thought there was a mistake somewhere,” she said.

Zusiphe also shared her thoughts on not winning the award. “Having to swallow the pill of not making it, as much as I foresaw that, but still, I had hope. I realized that the nomination on its own is a huge achievement,” she said.

Despite her initial doubts, Zusiphe, who hails from Matshona, Ntabankulu, acknowledged that the nomination was a huge achievement. “Out of more than 200 community radios in South Africa, I was among the best. I was chosen as one of the best, so that alone says a lot about me as an individual,” she said.

Zusiphe also expressed her gratitude to her fans and supporters. “Thank you for believing in me, rooting for me, and expecting so much from me. You guys made it easy for me to accept the outcome. I know you expected so much from me, but remember, it was out of our control. Next time, I am definitely bringing it home,” she said.

Zusiphe’s nomination is a testament to her talent and dedication to radio journalism. As she continues to work hard and pursue her passions, there’s no doubt that she will achieve great things in the future.
