Aphiwe Mangqangwini, an 18-year-old grade 11 student at Sanywana High School, has taken the modeling world by storm with a powerful message of self-love and acceptance. Her journey began with a heart-wrenching encounter that sparked a desire to stand up for those marginalized due to their skin color, body shape, and more.

One fateful day, while running errands, Aphiwe witnessed a group of young people harassing a little girl because of her skin tone. The girl’s shame and helplessness struck a chord within Aphiwe, leaving her with a deep sense of sorrow and a burning question: “Why can’t we be confident in ourselves?”
