UMHLOBO WENENE FM MOURNS THE PASSING OF AN EMPLOYEE

Umhlobo Wenene FM is under yet another dark cloud as they lost their employee. Breakfast show producer, Lusizo Canda has recently died at his home on Thursday, 21 March 2024.The shocking incident occurred few weeks after the new line up was announced by Umhlobo Wenene FM, with Canda not in the lineup. The news was shared by the station on its official Facebook page, expressing condolences and honoring Canda’s contribution to the team.
“Lala Ngoxolo, Lusizo Canda, umdidiyeli we BEE” read a post from the station’s Facebook page, mourning the loss of Canda.
Details surrounding the cause of Canda’s passing are yet to be disclosed. However, Zoom reported that a source close to the station revealed that his health took a turn after the news that he will no longer produce a show. His colleagues took to social media to express their shock at the passing of their member.
Since February, Umhlobo Wenene FM has grappled with profound loss. Reverend Nomathamsanqa Rweqana, and a writer who is celebrated for his contributions to the station’s drama series Ithini Na Lento, Sonwabo Yawa, both passed away on February 6 due to illness. Tragically, their departure was followed by the untimely death of voiceover artist Nomampondo Noluthando Simayi, who lost her life in a car accident while returning from Yawa’s funeral. The accident also left drama actors Nokukhanya Kula and Mzwandile Nzenze, as well as senior producer Toffee Zitshu, injured.
